An Edwardian 9 carat Rose Gold Long Curb Double Albert with T-Bar, hallmarked in Chester in 1909, in pristine condition for its age, 48.2grams 16½ inches long.  Traditionally used to carry a Pocket Watch to be worn on a waistcoat, but also may be worn as a Necklet on a slender neck.


* Albert Chains were originally designed in the ‘Double’ format to attach a Pocket Watch and a Key, the Single Albert chain becoming popular in the late 19th Century, with the invention of keyless watches. They are designed to be worn with a waistcoat and with the T-bar going through a buttonhole. Named after Prince Albert, wife of Queen Victoria they have become more versatile in recent years, gaining popularity as a very elegant necklace.
